War Aftermath

After the Russian Georgian war in August 2008 a quarter of a million people were displaced from their homes in Georgia. Some probably will never be able to return. For many, life situation is characterised by poor living conditions, war trauma, health problems and a desperate shortage of labor.

This photos were taken shortly after the war, in September. Some of this people were able to return, some are living in specially built IDP settlements. War took away everything they have ever built in their lives. many houses were burnt and the villages are still not rebuilt.
